After Spring has cleared off Alberta Ferretti has came back with her collection for Fall 2010 at Milan Fashion Week. In her collection this time theme typically took on girlish romance. Ferretti collection was not all about dresses. The collection was full of pretty separates, such as gently draped blouses and skirts, structured suits, eye-catching cocktail dresses and the glamorous Red Carpet Dresses which represented Alberta Ferretti classics. “When I started thinking about my collection for the next Autumn/Winter, I thought it was time to let the clothes speak. Every dress expresses a language and, actually, when clothes are put together, on a catwalk or in a closet, they can tell a story. So I wanted every dress to be recognizable for what it can express. And a dress expresses its own language with its own style which is built through a research that gives the dress itself an original preciousness and identity. I always inspire to a woman which lives in the modern world. This time I imagined a cosmopolitan woman, without national or temperamental definitions, who wants to express with elegance her sexy side. But it’s a woman that loves the Ferretti-sexy, which emphasizes the personality and shinks from vulgarity. This woman chooses the third way of sexy: usually women are divided in two categories, the ones that sacrify their sexy side and therefore their femininity and the ones that indulge in a vulgarity that, honestly, is a bit passè...

All the collection boasts rich features: fabrics, embroideries and volumes. Fabrics, for example, are very rich and embroidered. Through special decorations I obtained tridimensional embroideries with a satin ribbon. The cut underlines the shapes and the volumes are moved to the back to get a shifting figure. I also added nude tulle tops, underneath most of the dresses, on top of which crystals and stones form a jewel that looks like it has been tatooed or drawn directly on the body. It is indeed the nude color of these tops that delivers the sexiness of this collection: it’s a color-non-color that bears altogether warm and cold tones, that is not showy, but in fact almost invisible, still giving natural but at the same time artificial, shades. More than a color, it’s a tint able to remove an hint of vulgarity, even to the nude.” – Alberta Ferretti

The newly arrived collection features chiffon dresses in soft blush tones and smoky blacks. An angelic white pleated style with embroidered at bust, waist and hips make a case for understated embellishment. Likewise, green silk shift with a bejeweled drop waist and shoulders give a sexy look to its owner. Ferretti’s long evening dresses section could be up for more public attention than for any other pieces from this collection. Ferretti navigates to color scheme which is blush, nude and black tones with a vibe of covered arms with crystal sparkles planted on near-invisible net. Altogether the collection is truly phenomenal!

Check out for example this gently draped blouse with a fit-and-flare silhouette and a lacy bottom on the picture in smoky black color. This vertically pleated outfit made out of an eye-catching, see-through material doesn’t call for any jewelry. It is the jewelry itself.
